Jousting Rules

 

Located: Spellsword Chapterhouse Tilting Yard, just outside the Hardby city walls

Prizes


1. Equal to the EL of the tourney.
2. Enhancement of tournament champion's weapon or armor.
3. Coins, goods, and items.

Rules

  1. Joust until one knight is unhorsed or knocked unconcious.

  2. If both knights are unhorsed or knocked unconcious, they will run the tilt again until there is a victor.

  3. Must place a blunt tip upon the knight's lance.

  4. The knight must grant quarter to another knight that requests.

  5. The knight will be disqualified if he uses his own mount as cover or damages another knight's mount on purpose.

  6. Using a mount to attack an opponent will result in disqualification.

  7. The knight is allowed unlimited lances, 1 suit of armor, 1 shield, and may wear two weapons of choice for appearance only.

  8. Any items earned from previous jousting tournaments can be used by the knight.

  9. The code of honor is expected to be upheld by all knights during the entire tournament.


Player note

This game is strictly a side trek adventure. This means a DM will email or IM someone to complete their round of the tournament at random times that is suitable to both parties. Do not IM or email the DMs about your turn in the tournament unless they do so first. Every round of the tournament will be scheduled and not done just because a DM happens to be online not DMing something. 

 

 

Gladiator Combat Rules

 

Location: Spellsword Chapterhouse Arena, within Hardby city walls

Prizes


1. Equal to the EL of the tourney.
2. Enhancement of tournament champion's weapon or armor.
3. Coins, goods, and items.

Rules

  1. Gladiators are allowed 1 suit of armor, 1 shield, and 4 melee weapons into the arena.

  2. Spells are allowed but only after the combat has begun.

  3. No animal companions, familiars, or crystals are allowed to assist the gladiator.

  4. No poisons, equipment, or chemical enhancements allowed into the arena.

  5. Magic items brought into the arena can only be the ones the gladiator has won by way of contest inside the arena.

  6. Quarter must be given if asked for, helpless, or has become unconcious.

  7. Temple raising will be available for dead gladiators for a donation to the Spellsword Chapterhouse.

  8. No missle weapons allowed.

  9. No flying, levitation, or similiar actions of leaving the arena grounds is allowed.

  10. The gladiator loses the competition if he falls unconcious, is helpless, or dies.

  11. Any rule is subject to change or additions can be made with no notice by the Spellsword Chapterhouse.
